I have created a 3D virtual reality to illustrate the entire bar atmosphere. The central theme of the bar is a contemporary, modern aesthetic that aims to provide a warm and inviting environment for patrons. To achieve this, I strategically integrated an array of lighting elements, carefully selecting and positioning them to craft an ambiance that welcomes guests with open arms.

The 3D virtual reality experience I've developed offers a captivating journey through the bar, allowing clients to immerse themselves in the intricacies of the design. It goes beyond mere visualization, offering an interactive and dynamic exploration of the space. Clients can walk through, interact with different lighting scenarios, and gain a profound sense of how the atmosphere evolves throughout the day and evening.

The modern theme is exemplified by clean lines, sleek furnishings, harmonious color palettes, and cutting-edge fixtures. Every element has been thoughtfully curated to ensure cohesiveness and alignment with the overarching design concept. The goal is to create an environment that not only appeals visually but also fosters comfort and a sense of belonging.

Furthermore, my commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and design trends ensures that the 3D virtual reality experience remains innovative and up-to-date. I continuously explore emerging technologies and design principles to elevate the quality of the final product and offer clients an immersive and unforgettable preview of their envisioned bar.

In summary, my work in creating this 3D virtual reality representation of the modern-themed bar revolves around meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of lighting design, and a commitment to delivering an atmosphere that truly welcomes and engages patrons. This innovative approach sets new standards in the field, providing clients with a powerful tool for visualizing and refining their bar concept.

This module provides students with the opportunity to research and analyse interior theories and identities through theory-led and practice-based research and to synthesise their findings in the selection of a site, a client and by writing a project brief for their Interior Major Project. The module also encompasses the design process with evidence of all stages of design from research and conceptual design through to design and presentation.

The module is delivered through studio teaching and provides the students with the opportunity to develop and hone the following University of Portsmouth Graduate Hallmarks:

1. Have a critical and reflective knowledge and understanding of their subject, with both the ability and readiness to question its principles, practices and boundaries;

2. Think independently, analytically and creatively, and engage imaginatively with new areas of investigation within and across discipline boundaries;

3. Be able to synthesize new and existing knowledge to generate ideas and develop creative solutions of benefit to the economy and society;

4. Be intellectually curious, embrace challenges and seize opportunities for development;

6. Be informed citizens, with a sense of responsibility allied to a commitment to ethical practice and social justice issues, such as equality, respect and sustainability;

8. Be able to communicate clearly and effectively, in a range of forms and to different audiences;

9. Have an enterprising spirit, bringing innovation and productivity to the groups and communities to which they belong;

10. Be able to work in a range of environments, responding positively to new situations by being aware, flexible, adaptable and realistic in their expectations.

11. Be proactive in recognizing and addressing personal development needs, and able to make informed career decisions.

The design studio deals with the interface between interior domestic architecture and the high-density urban condition which characterizes the Portsea Island. Through the regeneration project of the Brunel House – a modern high-rise slab building which has been abandoned in the last several decades and is currently abandoned, located in the Hard – I will develop a detailed interior design proposal.

Clients

I would need to design a cluster of private units and shared facilities. My clients are 4 to 8 young professionals with individual and specific interests. I need to define their activities and reflect them into their private space. I can choose their interests from the given list or add any new particular activity.

The design of a “cluster”:

  • We define the cluster as a combination of 4 to 8 living units with their shared facilities.

  • The dimension of the cluster is defined by: i) the width of the building on one side; ii) a maximum of half of the floor-plan on the other side; iii) the cluster must span for two floors.

  • The quality and flexibility of both the private and the communal spaces are the main focus of the project.
